Every time I try to remove these I keep getting "Cannot delete because in use by another user or program". How do I find out which program is using it and turn it off so I can delete these files? When I click on properties for qmgr1.dat and qmgr0.dat this the string that comes up:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader

opens with: Unknown application

Type of file: DAT File

Is this some type of virus or trojan? :hmm: Thanks, Jboro.

Allo Jboro and welcome to Lockergnomes Smile

I did a Google search on those filenames and got this result for you Wink

They seem to be 'safe' as such, but you might want to read it through to see if it's ok with what you're using on system.

Good luck Wink .....

BITS creates and uses the Qmgr0.dat and Qmgr1.dat files. When BITS runs, the Qmgr0.dat and Qmgr1.dat files are always locked. (from MS site)
BITS is the background intelligent transfer service. It's part of your OS so DO NOT REMOVE!
