Once Windows has asked you if you want it to remember a username/password and you've said "no". It doesn't ever ask again.
So if I've changed my mind is there a way to reset this so that it does remember my username/password on some site or othsr?

From "Start", "Help and Support", search entry "autocomplete"
I get this
Quote:
To adjust AutoComplete settings

You can configure AutoComplete to save and suggest only the information you want. You can choose whether to use AutoComplete for Web addresses, forms, and passwords, or not use it all. You can also clear the history for any of these.

In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Content tab.
Under Personal information, click AutoComplete.
Select the check boxes for the AutoComplete options you want to use.

Would this be what you are looking for????

Open your IE, goto Tools - Internet Options - Content tab - in the Personal Information area press the Auto Complete button. Make appropriate selections and okay/apply as needed to exit areas.

No the problem is that autocomplete works for all the the web site log-ins, oher than ones I needed to keep secure.
But havng told it not to remember a certain password/username I can't get it back again.
It's not even that I've changed my mind. I just that I now need convenience more than security on one of my web based e-mail accounts.

Well, as an easy fix, you could use Firefox for those sites [or all sites].

Download here.

The only time I use internet exploder is when I use windows update, and there is an ad-on that can take care of that too.

It's my work PC that I need this with most. So I hae to use the corporate IT systems.
That being said, I'm sure I've had the same problem in Firefox.

(BTW kenmabcc, you're in Dunedin. I thought that everyone there was a teacher (or married to a teacher).)

Well just like the others have stated in IE Tools/Internet Options/Content/Auto Complete...what happens when you click the Clear Passwords button and also check the box that says "Prompt me to save passwords"?
