Hello,
I did google this subject first..and came across this suggestion in many places. I immediately tried it, but for some baffling reason, it won't work..I never get any input sound. Recording from the mic works normally, but not from the computer. I've tried finding out why, but I cannot find any reason.
I have also come across the idea of connecting the computer's line-out to it's line-in. That would be great, if it weren't for the fact that I need to be able to record audio and listen to it at the same time.
I'm using Win XP Home Edition SP3. I'm attempting to record using a Samsung NC10 netbook..I'm afraid the only name for the built-in sound card that I can find is 'Realtek High Definition Audio' Confused
Perhaps someone can be of help here Laughing

Are you trying to record sounds, like music, that are being made inside your computer?
From a CD? Or from an internet source? WHAT?

And what do you want to record it on?

I used to record music from my computer onto a Cassette Player/Recorder.

I ran a stereo patch cord from the line out jack on the PC to the AUX input jack on the recorder.

So many questions!

Oh dear, I seem to have left out quite a bit of information Rolling Eyes

I'm actually trying to record sound from an internet source..although I've tried music played from the hard drive to test it too, and the random computer sounds you get when for example, an error message pops up, etc.

I'd like to record it as a file on the hard drive..a cassette player or CD isn't ideal Laughing
