Double Killer compares files by CRC32 which may lead to FALSE duplicates, NoClone compares files byte by byte, duplicates found are true.
Do you want to select duplicates to delete by hand? You can only do so with Double Killer. NoClone has a smart marker feature to filter duplicates and save your valuable time.

Directory Report finds duplicate files based on the same name, size, CRC (32 bit hash) and/or comparing byte by byte

CRC is faster than comparing byte by byte
Since it is a 32 bit hash - the odds of a false positive is extremely rare
But Directory Report gives you the choice of comparing byte by byte anyway

When I tell friends and customers to use "Easy Cleaner 2" to clean up their computer, I always tell them to stay out of the Duplicate Files applet.
Easy Cleaner 2, is a FREE program that can remove junk files, clean up the registry, Safely, and remove other select items like MRU's.

Many people have trashed their computer, by removing all duplicate files.
Not even an expert, like a Microsoft Engineer would know what files can safely be deleted. Many files are needed to be in multiple places to keep all the programs running properly.

Wanting to clean up or speed up your computer? Look elsewhere! Leave duplicate files alone. That's my professional advise. That too is free.

The rule is simple: find duplicates in my documents, picture and music, you must you what your data files are.
Don't search Windows and Program files folders!
