I (reluctantly and briefly) installed RealPlayer within Firefox. Embarassed
I then discovered that it had uninstalled FF2 and replaced it with the older version 1.5. ( It even calls itself Firefox for RealPlayer. )
I only found this because several of my other add-ons ( and much more useful to me) had stopped working!
I am sooooo angry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Terry,
How's things in jolly auld England?

Ready for a big New Years celebration? I love to watch the fireworks going off over Big Ben. I'll be watching.......

Here in Florida, we've got lots of wild critters including alligators.

Just like I won't have an alligator for a house pet,
I won't have "Real (anything)" on my computer either.
It's garbage as far as I'm concerned.

WELL, you sort of found that out.....didn't you? Question Idea

Better luck next time.

Cheers Mate!

Well, it's wet and very windy here, so the young people who flock to the centre of London and other cities, will feel a bit damp. ( And the shed on my allotment has blown over, dammit.)

The BBC's web broadcasts tend to push users to RealPlayer, although they'll now work through the MS player too. And yesterday I was having trouble getting the webcast of the football, so I thought I'd try the alternative. Which was, yes, a mistake. Sad

Have you considered Real Alternative?
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm

or just go here http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/faqs/firefox-windows.html
and see about installing a plugin.

Real Alternative worked really well. Very Happy
The BBC site couldn't tell the difference at all.
(I'd tried this a few years ago and Real Alternative just didn't get recognised by the BBC radio.)

I'm glad it worked. Very Happy Spread the word to use Real Alternative and Quicktime Alternative instead of the original bloated programs.
