I'd like you all to give Pluck a try. I think that you may find you like it.
It's a reader client that integrates with IE and gives you access to a reader just by clicking a toolbar button. Imagine the freedom- you're surfing along, having a fine time, maybe even doing a Google search, when BOOM! you find a page full of info you've been looking for seemingly for ages. Better yet, it has an RSS feed button! Now, you minimize your browser and bring up your newreader software to add this great feed to your list. It may take you a bit, because you have to go through a number of operations to add the feed.
Up to now, you feel like it's been worth it. But with Pluck in place, you simply click the toolbar button to bring up the reader pane, then click and drag the new feed to the folder you want to store it in, and drop it. Period. The feed is now installed in your newsreader. You can go back to browsing or searching as easily as clicking that toolbar button again or simply leave Pluck open, since it takes only as much space as an IE sidebar, like the Favorites, if that's the way you want it.
One caveat is that this software is still in beta. Currently it's at version 0.9.1. It still has some rough edges and not all things work right, so be warned. The bunch that put it out, thought are working hard to make everything go as it should and I have confidence that they'll get it right.
