I am half way through COD2, (am a couple of levels past the storming of the french beaches.) and my driver spazzed out, so I reinstalled ATI driver 6.11 now Im getting a error " No valid rendering code path detected" I have the latest DirectX, the latest drivers, so Im a little unsure why it wont play. Any ideas? and dont tell me my video card wont play it as Im already half way through it.

Thanks for your help, oh and Im a noob so not to technical please.

Ok, but maybe you don't have enough memory on your video card.
For most of the newer games, 128 MB or more is needed. Check the bottom of the box for video memory requirements.

So, you reinstalled the video driver, then did you reinstall the other graphics software again? Install the OEM drivers, then driver updates, then DX, then the game. See if that works for you.

Reduce the amount of detail the game is showing. Idea

Don't run anything else in the background, turn off your screensaver! Idea Nothing!!! Turn off the network connection and disable the virus scanner if you are playing off-line, that will save memory space and reduce interference as well.

Good luck! Let us know what happens! Cool

OK, again sorry for being basic, but what are the OEM drivers? and how do I check to see if I have the latest ones?
I know COD2 is right on the limit for my card, will upgrade when DX10 comes out (dont we all have to upgrade then anyway?)

Go on to the ATI website and download the latest drivers. Uninstall your existing drivers, restart your PC and then install the downloaded ones.
