My father-in-law just purchased (over the internet) a license for GhostSurf. He seemed to have some kind of problem, I don't exactly what it was but he uninstalled it. As a result he seems to be locked out of most options on his computer. For example, when connecting a USB device it is not recognised, he is not able to change/view his internet connection details, and he is not able to establish an internet connection.
My younger brother also downloaded the trial version of the product, way before my father-in-law encountered problems. Having also uninstalled the trial version of Ghostsurf having been tipped by my father-in-law that it caused him problems, my brother has discovered that he has exactly the same problems as my father-in-law.

I've been using GhostSurf for several years now and have no problems, but I don't think I have the platignum version that they have, which I think has all sorts of extras, most of which I don't need. Some of those extras may be some kind of protection software, which I think may have caused the issues that both are receiving now.

Has anyone encountered similar problems.

My suggestion to them both was to re-install the software and then uninstall it correctly, as I suspect that it has not been uninstalled correctly and thus left some windows Vista settings set.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?.

Your father-in-law's problem might be easier to fix, considering he just installed it. Have him use a restore point. He might get the full functionality of his computer back.

As far as your brother, since it has been on his computer for awhile, restoring isn't a good option. If the site has a forum, he may want to read and see if any one has similar problems and what solutions are recommended.
