My OS is XP sp2. Downloaded AdAware, but when I try to run the installer - aaw2007.exe, I get an error message saying that "aaw2007.exe is not a valid Win32 app." Anyone know what gives?

Could be a corrupted download. Clear your internet cache (temp files) and then try downloading it again here.

You aren't alone with that error

and no one has responded to help.

I'll keep an eye on the forum to see if any solution is offered.

Thanks for your attention and trying to help. Think I'll give up on AdAware.

You said, I believe that you downloaded AdAware 2007, right?

I've not heard of anyone having your particular problem but it's not the AdAware file. It's something in your "Windows", because that same file has loaded OK on millions of PC's with NO problem.
Fix windows and the program will install OK.
I recently saw that same error message, but for the life of me, I can't remember just where I saw it or what program I was trying to run.
I just remember that it was some program that I thought should run, but didn't.

Sounds easy, right? Well, it probably is, but I'm clueless as to where to start.

One thing you can try though, to get the AdAware protection.
Find and download AdAware SE/Personal.......the older version. It's still getting updates and works as good as it ever did.
Someone just posted the download url for that file.
The file you need is:
aawsepersonal.exe

Good Luck
