If its hazardous for the end user, think about the poor guy (like I used to be) in the service centers, tearing down and cleaning up those same printers.
I'd go home at night with a black ring-around-the-collar and blowing black stuff out of my nose. It's a miracle I don't have black lunge disease.

Many people in the service businesses are exposed to hazardous materials every day and no one makes Headlines out of it.

Be safe.....don't breath.

My Dad's been a technician for over 50 years, and I mentioned to him only the other week about whether he has ever been concerned about the fumes from solder damaging his health. He then pointed to a little fan on his workbench which he switches on whenever he is soldering to blow the fumes away from him.

Oddly enough, when I was an electronics repair engineer (TV's, stereos, radios etc.), I used to like the smell of solder Wink. Printer toner does smell absolutely foul though

The carbon black in Laser Printer and copier Toner is bad enough, but the other chemicals and powdered plastics are obvious carcinogens.

Don't snort the toner!

I used to rebuild laser printers in my home, and even refill toner cartridges.
Now-a-days, I won't allow one in my house!
Dirty, nasty things! Twisted Evil

I knew (past tense) a man who worked in a toner cartridge refill business for several years. He never wore a filter mask or breathing apparatus.
He died recently of lung cancer.

Stay safe!
