Colin Powell, one of President Obama's most prominent Republican supporters, expressed concern Friday that the president's ambitious blitz of costly initiatives may be enlarging the size of government and the federal debt too much.

Even Powell is starting to see the light.
On a side note, for all those on the left (or "center") who praised Powell when he supported Obama, is he still right?

Its been pointed out to me many times when I questioned Obama's actions that Obama is not doing anything he didn't say he was going to do all along so I'm curious. Why is Powell all of a sudden having doubts now about Obama's "ambitious" plans? A little late isn't it? Is he really that dumb that he didn't see this coming, was his support really all about race or was it simply a case of wanting to be on the side that was likely to win the election, ie typical politics? Or could he be just now seeing that the Obama flagship is starting to take on water and being a good politician having a case of every man for himself. In other words practicing a little CYA. Oh, and one last quetion for Mr. Powell. "How's that change working out for you sir?"

Living here in the "People's Republic of Ann Arbor" as I do, I have many friends and acquaintances who voted for Obama. And many of those are now also questioning. To a person, those now questioning genuinely thought he was being a populist to get elected and would be "centrist" in his actual governing.
After all, it is stupid to actually believe what a politician tells you... |
