Greetings!

I can't attend this year but I saw this message in a newsgroup and thought, "What IF I was going? Where would I play pinball?"

Feel free to email Nick directly! John!

(While computer pinball is fun, the real thing is so much better!)

The first place that comes to mind is Loco Joes. There's two locations within about 10 minutes of downtown Des Moines and one within 20 minutes in Ankeny. You pay $2-3 to get in and then every game costs 0-6 nickels to play.

All of the malls and truck stops have a game room and so does most hotels. Many bars will have a pinball machine also, but those tend to be a bit pricey. A partial list of places to find entertainment is found here.

The best place to play pinball is Loco Joes by Merle Hay Mall. This is the only one in the Des Moines area. But if you want to be adventerous, go to the truck stop in Altoona. There are only 2-3 pinball machines, but guess what.....It's 3 blocks away from Prarie Meadows race track and casino. There really is no other place to mention. Oh wait. Fun Palace on Grand in West Des Moines. It's like a Loco Joes but it is normal priced games. They even have a few retro games there too.
