The old 1.3 megapixel camera and my lacking ability at picture taking can now be found here http://www.iggyz.com/files/Gnomedex3/default.htm
A few decent pictures all the same - the ones I wanted to come out didn't of course. Thought it might be a fun look any way. In my opinion - my bad picture taking aside ( must save for a higher megapixel camera ) - Gnomedex lived up to the hype.

Had about 150 more that could have been added to this.

Had I not made a bit of a user error and trashed them. Lack of sleep can help you make a mess of things.

Wow, those were some great pics of walls, buildings, cealings, people's backs, and some guy juggling.
haha, kidding. :\ (that was bad)
It was cool, though some were a bit shaky and oddly colored. Nice (insight) pics on what Des Moines looks like.

I so agree the pictures of the buildings came out best - bad lighting and the lowest setting on a 1.3 megapixel camera leads to bad pictures - I'll learn - but some of the city pixz didn't turn out to bad - the conference stuff totally blows - but I figured I'd post the crud anyway. I'll take donations for a 5 megapixel camera lol. There are about another 150 that got trashed by accident - note to self don't walk around skywalk at 2AM in the morning taking pictures if your not watching the buttons your pushing. The pictures taken from the penthouse balcony at night totally turned out like crap as well - not sure a higher mega cam would have helped there. Oh well - either way the show lived up to the hype - hopefully next year my skills as a camera person and my chosen equipment will improve. Personally I think it's a firmware issue with the camera - yea right - that's the ticket - it was the firmware. And you have to admit - even though the 2 pictures were blurred - it was cool to see Corey juggling in the hotel lobby - classic.

Just added the penthouse video to my site

And I've done a quick slideshow of pictures I found of interest so far from the sites that covered the show.

I'd also add on a side not one shouldn't be critical off others efforts. Not everyone has the budget for the latest and greatest tech toys. And venturing out of the confines of ones hotel and the conference shouldn't be a sin. I found some of the buildings and the design of the downtown of interest. Yes maybe it could have been better captured. But finding things other than the show of interest shouldn't be a sin. I thought finding all things of interest - is what a geek was all about. But then again maybe it's all about who has the latest toys. Gotta love elite attitude.
