Stanley, 23, was also given five months of home detention, three years of supervised probation and a $3,000 fine for his role in the Elite Torrents service, which used a sharing technology known as BitTorrent. Stanley, who had pleaded guilty to copyright-related charges, was sentenced Oct. 17.

OK....so they got one guy.....what about the other 3,963 ???

That's pretty lame for a Justice Department with a budget in the millions.

We sure don't get much for our money from those guys.

Hello,

Judging from what I read (a quick search for Mr. Stanley and his web site revealed several articles), it appears the guilty party ran a tracker site which specialized in copyrighted material.

While this means he only abetted the copyright infringement, as opposed to say, hosting the files themselves, he was probably of more interest to the MPAA, RIAA, BSA and other trade associations like these than simple home users.
