i am looking at this unit to simply convert video to dvd and no need of a tuner.
I need something user friendly as i will use it off and on over a period of time as i have at least 100 videos in my library, mostly music videos of my favorite concerts.

I have a hi end Sony slv-r5uc video unit that i will use. ( i used it previously in editing my sony hi 8 cassettes to vhs)

I can't seem to find a quality, user friendly capture video to create dvd without the tv tuner.
The above is available here in canada and as well the hauppauge wintv pvr usb-2 which i already have on another notebook.

i was looking at this above unit for my toshiba notebook 2410, intel pent 4, mobile processor, 512 RAm, XP, 40 gigs and will only use this notebook for my hobby.

Is there anyone out there with experience with this unit??? I have googled and went to the pinnacle site forum and posted and can't seem to get any responses, ...videoguys, video.com, videomaker.com

I would like to hear from experienced users. This is a USB hook up device and as I said my hauppauge has all the unecessary bells and whistles of a tv tuner that i don't want and don't use; but it does good video capture and creation with Movie Factory 4.

I would appreciate comments, thankyou

I had an older version of Pinnacle Studio and it worked great.

Before using any Pinnacle product, carefully read the EULA. According to some sites, it is among one of the worst in the industry.

There's a video site called The SimplyDV Bulletin Board http://www.simplydv.co.uk/simplyBB/

I don't know if you'll find the info you need, but they seem to know their stuff when it comes to video editing matters. It might be worth a look.
