| I think that this presentation was not only well done but will connect with most voters.
I was impressed that although he said there are challenges,
he had inclusive and positive way forward outlook.

| I thought it was OK. One thing I didn't understand was his "tax breaks for working families making less thatn $200,000". What happened to less than $250,000? Or did I misunderstand something somewhere along the way?
Those of us making $249,000 a year want to know ....... just kidding.

I haven't kept track of the latest misspeaks regarding the numbers, but I've heard of them in the McCain sound bites.
I think I can clear up what happened between 200 and 250. I remember some of the speeches (earlier when everyone isn't so tired after this long campaign) where basically the people making between 200-250 probably won't actually see a tax cut on their income, but their taxes won't go up. Plus Obama will eliminate capital gains for the middle class. So it that sense they could see their taxes go down, if they have any capital gains. |

| First it was $300,000 then I quote Obama, "If you make under $250,000 you will not see your taxes increase." Then "If you make under $200,000 you will get a tax cut." Then Joe Biden said $150,000 and then Bill Richardson (Gov. New Mexico) said $120,000 http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/31/low-richardson-pegs-middle-class-making/ I'm not too sure if the Bill Richardson is valid or not, there's not enough proof running around, but Biden has said $150,000. Also, Gezzer, fresh air my rear, he's not any "different" he's just extremely leftist. He's trying to change the U.S. from capitalism to socialism, in my opinion. You think he'll be fiscally responsible? Look at this: http://www.ntu.org/main/page.php?PageID=97 |

If you do not live in the US,
you might not have heard about bush, 700 trillion dollars, Wall Street,
but if you google them you will.

How are these two different things? They are the same thing. somebody making under $250,000 is not going to see a tax increase. Those under $200,000 will get a tax cut. It;s the people between 200,000 and 250,000 that will remain flat. $200,000 and $250,000 are the only figures I have ever heard from anyone regarding the Obama campaign. |

Ken, Wall St. did not see a penny from that bailout. You see, Wall St. going up or down depends on whether the investors decide to buy or sell. Buy a lot, it goes up, sell a lot it goes down. It just so happens investors decided to sell a crapton when the banks went south. Now, this is NOT as bad as the 1930 crash. In the 1930s you had people jumping out of windows because of it. You had bread lines, water lines, etc. I do not think the situation is that bad. I don't think it will get that bad. I don't agree with the bailout. AGAIN, AS A CONSERVATIVE I DO NOT AGREE WITH THE BAILOUT! I am disappointed in McCain for voting for it. The bailout did help restore some confidence in the market which has led to a bit of it going back up. I mean it had a record increase on the anniversary of the 1930 crash. Now, back to taxes... he says that people wont see a tax increase, but what will happen when he repeals the BTCs? Your taxes WILL go up. The reason it the BTC benefited the wealthy more is because of the progressive nature of our tax system. The BTC allowed some people to stop paying income taxes, what happens when that gets repealed? Doesn't that mean they'll have a tax increase? |
