| On Monday, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow were among several people who attended an off-the-record briefing with Pres. Obama at the White House. Sources tell us other attendees at the two-and-a-half hour chat included Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post, Maureen Dowd of the New York Times, Gwen Ifill of PBS and Gloria Borger of CNN. Perhaps not surprisingly, no one from Fox News was in the room. |
Two and a half hours. Remember, Olbermann complained three years ago when Bush dared waste 90 minutes of taxpayer money chatting up his own ideological allies in the Oval Office. As for Fox News being conspicuously omitted from the guest list, I e-mailed Jake Tapper to see if he’d gotten an invite despite his willingness to pursue stories broken by Fox. Turns out he wasn’t included in the briefing either. Fancy that.

Amazing. So, Obama meets with Olberman and Maddow, who are so obviously partisan, and NOT news anchors, they are entertainers, just like Hannity and Beck, who the very next day Gibbs called out as examples of why the entire Fox News organization "isn't a news organization".
The hypocrisy, the blatant partisanship, the unbelievable attempts to destroy anyone who dares question, all coming from the One who was supposed to be Post-Partisan, the One who promised "Change", is just astounding.
Why aren't you Democrats and Independents screaming? What is enough to make you say "enough"? Will you wait until Obama attacks you personally? |

I must say, I'm amazed at how cavalier you on the left are about government control of media. Especially given I remember how much you were against anything the Bush administration put out.
Just wait. At some point Obama will come after something you care about, and no one will be there to stop him because you cheered him on now. |

C'mon Xavierx. For someone who is as fond of using the media to spread his message of "change" and carefully cultivated propaganda as Obama is it should come as no surprise that he would only want to meet with his most trusted cronies from the State run media in what was billed after all as an off the record meeting. I can't blame him for not inviting the very people he already knows aren't buying into his propaganda campaign (FOX). It would be akin to inviting the Iranians to sit in on an informal meeting between the US and the Israelis on how to bomb those pesky Iranian nuclear facilities that are only for "peaceful" use. |

Oh, you mean like much of the "news" from sites and organizations like the Huffington Post and Media Matters that you subject us to on a regular basis?
I'm really not interested in playing this latest game with you or the Obama camp for that matter but you've mentioned it here now enough times that I thought I would add my two cents worth. I haven't noticed any deliberate fabrications from FOX and I watch them quite often, do you? I assume you have "facts" other than the oft posted one about that court ruling to back that up or are you just making this all up? Given that FOX is on a 24hr news cycle there should be plenty of examples to be had. Also keep in mind that CBS got in hot water over their "factual" account of Bush's national guard record so this kind of thing is not new. In fact I believe it was FOX that broke the story about CBS and Dan Rather first though I could be wrong. ABC, CBS, NBC and MSNBC in particular have been "making the news" for years and even venerable CNN has started doing so lately much to my chagrin so it wouldn't be all that surprising if FOX did so occasionally. Still their version of "fair and balanced" such as it is, still beats the competitions version of "unbiased" by a wide margin if you ask me. |
