A friend of mine has sent me some music tracks, which seem to be in
an odd format. Unfortunately he has gone away for a month, so I can't
quiz him! They have an mp3 extension but won't play or convert in
anything I have. Tried Audacity, CDex, Format Factory and MediaCoder
and get failures. The size looks about correct (3.5megs on average)
but the duration in "AudioShell" properties only shows as 1 second
with a bitrate of zero! I`ve loaded them into a program I have called
MediaInfo, which says they are actually MWA Lossless. I have also
tried changing the file extension to MWA and the box that appears when
I hover the cursor over the file shows that it was encoded using
Windows Media Encoder 11, duration 00.01, bit rate VBR 1152 kbps, but
I still can't get any further. What do I do with them (preferably for
free!)?
