Hi everyone,

I am looking to see if anyone has any suggestions on computer monitoring software that can automatically email the log files to an email address. I have found some through my searches but I am not really familiar with any of them. I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with something like this. A little background information: this is for employee monitoring at my work. There are about 15-20 remote locations, each having about 1 computer each. They will be getting broadband internet access so my boss would like them to be monitored. Since they are around the state and not just one location, they would like the information sent automatically instead of having to travel to each location to view a log. All of the computers are Windows machines. We are also a non-profit organization so we really can't afford "enterprise" solutions. A plus would be the ability to block certain websites too.

If you need any further information, please let me know. Thanks for everyones help.

Hello,

You might want to take a look at Spectorsoft's offerings.

Also, you may wish to review an earlier message thread on a similar subject here.

One suggestion I have is to make sure all employees receive proper notification that computer usage is monitor and the proper notices are displayed on each computer according to your state's privacy laws. This will help to indemnify your employer in the event they are sued for privacy violations.

Regards,

Thanks goretsky, I appreciate your reply.

I have looked at Spectorsoft before, it is currently at the top of my list in conjunction with something like a Linksys Firewall Router / VPN Endpoint.

Also, policies are currently in place that let the employee's know that computer monitoring does occur.

I am happy to hear any other suggestions or ideas.

You could use SyncBack SE - it will automatically email backup reports to an email address of your choice.

It also has an FTP option for transferring files.

I used it for a while, but have found pcAnywhere to be much more flexible. I still use the Syncback SE emails to remind me that the task has been completed.
