Downloaded "Poor Richards Home and Small Office Networking" off of Lokergnome's web site, made the credit card payment of $15.00. Left the PDF file on my desktop and finished reading some e-mai, came back and the PDF file was gone. Made a search for it, but it didn't find the file.

Since I cannot find any way of contacting customer service on Lockergnome's web site, I am hoping a reader can help me of finding some way to contact Lockergnome and hopefully retreive this file without having to pay another $15.00.

Thanks

Hello,

I've notified Lockergnome's management and you should be hearing from them shortly on this. When they contact you they may request additional information in order to track down the purchase, so you may want to keep any email you received as a receipt handy in case they ask you to forward a copy.

Regards,

I run Firefox and it downloads everything to the desktop by Default. I like this.
But there is a downside. Desktop icons can get moved over to sit on top of one another, thusly dissappearing in the process.
Move each icon on your Desktop, to see if maybe there's another icon under it.
You can also open Windows Explorer and then open "Desktop" and see if the file is really there.
That is much quicker, if you have lots of desktop icons.

When I get a new icon on my desktop, I either move it or copy it to a holding folder which I also keep on my desktop (not the actual folder, but a shortcut to it.)

Then the file is safe from accidents.
This is especially vital if you've just paid good money for that downloaded file.

You may want to use your "Search" function to look for the filename. If it's anywhere on your PC, that should uncover it.

Good Luck,
Doc (Dr. Morbius)
