I have a Gateway laptop - only a year and a half old.

I recently had some static electricity problems with it that caused it not to fully boot. I rectified that issue, but I noticed that the temperature of the "brick" part of the power supply gets quite warm Evil or Very Mad Not quite too hot to touch, but much warmer than my other laptop power supplies.

I never really noticed the temperature before. Do temperatures vary with power supplies? Can this damage the laptop itself? It seems to be functioning / charging normally other than the temperature of the brick..

Thanks

Hello,

It is normal for a power adapter to be slightly warm, but if it is actually hot enough to be noticeable, then there may be an issue. I would suggest contacting Gateway technical support and see if they will replace it--they may do so, even if it is outside the warranty period.
