| Do you have any minimum requirements...working...disk size...brand? And if someone does, are you covering shipping costs?
More info would be useful.

Hello
I have a couple of older Notebooks. One a 486sx, the other a NEC 2400 model with cdrom. If your interested let me know, and I will negotiate prices. Actually if you buy the NEC I'll throw in the 486. It works but needs a power supply. |

I was just wondering what dknoppix wanted as he started this topic. I have an old
HP 2000CS Pent.166MMX 64MB ram 2GBHD running win.'95 with office'97. It was used for basic school work, reports, and web searching. I do not know if it will run 2000 or not; check the specs and let me know. I'll probably let it go for shipping,
packing charge. I do have a 98SE upgrade cd with key code I'll add if you need\want it. It will come with floppy, cd-rom, 2batteries and charger. If it will not run 2000 and you are willing to drop back to 98SE let me know, send me your ZIP CODE and I'll check on S&H @ the UPS store.. |

If anyone wants this notebook they can have it for the cost of packing materials & shipping:
(quoting from memory - I can confirm details later if needed)
Fujitsu Lifebook
approx 200mhtz Pentium
16 or 32mb memory
approx. 4gb HD
No OS
powercord/supply
-Needs external cd-rom (this was a "ultra-portable"in its day)
This notebook got passed on to me from the original owner when they upgraded. Its been sitting in my closet for the past 6 months - I don't have the interest in checking it out, installing an OS, etc.
Free to whomever takes it like it is + shipping & materials. |

Well I can't compete with those above me because we are trying to sell this laptop (for friend's wedding fund...no not me)
IBM ThinkPad
266 MhZ
64 MB RAM
4 Gig Hard Drive
External/removable floppy drive
External CD ROM Drive (USB)
56 K dataFax modem
Power Cord included
Battery is shot; you will need to buy a new one
Carrying Case thrown in- VERY nice one too.
It has Windows 98SE on there right now. I believe you can get 2000 on it.
NO CDs with this laptop (they were lost by an uber idiot). OS CD will not accompany laptop either. Some drivers may be missing due to a reformat to rid it of previous owner's stuff. Anything else you need to know let me know.
WOuld like to sell for at least 100-150 dollars. |

shipping costs from USPS is (approximately)..

UPS is...
UPS Ground 13.60

dudes, you guys.. i would *cream* in my jeans if someone gave me a free laptop... well i didnt when i DID get a free laptop.. but i soon had to realise it was completely farked and wipe myself off and get to work fixing it..
unfortunately this hasnt went too well.
Its an Armada 1700, and its totally unresponsive apart from a flashing battery light which flashes forever unless i disconnect the mains or battery (whichever its operating off). Other than that, theres absolutely no other signs of life. I replaced the internal AC adaptor, to no effect. i also replace the 266 motherboard with a 366... no effect. dammit! posted this same plea for help on about 20 forums!!... no effect.. lol.
basically i got it into my head i wanted a laptop... now im going crazy for one.. and have no money lol. does anyone wanna give me one? i could probs scrape enough together for the shipping and handling lol. mainly want to use it for browsing.. mp3s maybe msn and at MOST watching medium to low quality DivX. anyone got any ideas, you seem like generous folk, offering free laptops out.. i googled "old free laptops" and was fortunate enough to come across this lol.. well my msn tenaciouscree.DeleteThis@hotmail.com if anyone wants to discuss with me. its also my email. ill be checking the board over the next few days anyway, so thanks for reading..
cree
edit: my head is SO pickled trying to find info on my armada |

To Highranger.
I am the guy you sent the laptop to. It is working out very nicely. I have been using it to remote desktop my main XP pro system from anywhere in the house and outside in the yard using wifi. It is nice to use this inexpensive and slow laptop to access the power of my fast dekstop. I also use it to take meeting minutes for our elders meetings at church, too bad I can't give you a donation receipt for your charity . It may be way behind the times in hardware, but it is working beautifully in it's limited capacity. Thanks again,

Hello, I noticed this topc was a couple of months old, but I am looking for an old laptop. The min requirements would be running windows, as long as it's not 3.1. For those who are looking for numbers 100MHz, 16MB RAM, and a harddive with a good gig or two. I am fully willing to pay for shipping, and then some if you want. I'll keep this topic bookmarked, but I check my email far more often.
-Thanks |

I posted this at

If you can not help, please pass on the
address to someone who can
I am seeking a laptop, and am willing to pay for shipping.
I am not rich by any means, but I do wish to connect
to the internet, perhaps put up a website...
Ive got zero luck staying a top bidder
on used ebay laptops
What I have been looking for is something with
256MB RAM 10 GB hard drive space
56 Kbps modem 8MB of video RAM
A laptop that can run Win XP
If you can help me, or know of anyone who can,
please have them send me an email
I definitely appreciate it.
Thanks for your time and consideration. |
