I'd just have to take a SWAG at it. (Scientificwildassedguess)
LCD monitors DO NOT natively have a 640x480 (VGA/CGA) resolution.
They are meant to accommodate the higher resolutions of today's PC's.
That it even works at all, is a miracle.
My Envision 19" LCD does work fine in DOS, but it's also one of the last that still use the standard aspect ratio of the CRT's. (It's NOT a wide screen)
I guess it just depends on how the engineers designed it.
If you have NO settings on the monitor itself, like an Auto Adjust mode, (look for that) you may just be S.O.L. (you know what that means, right?)
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the last one on this planet using DOS.
Do you have/use
NTFS4DOS? I find it irreplaceable when trying to access files on an NTFS drive, from DOS.
If you'd like to compare notes on DOS, drop me a PM.
Cheers mate!
