Just wanted to share my recent discovery of a repair shop for LCD monitors:
http://stores.ebay.com/Frans-Solo-9300-One-Stop-Shop
The link will take you to his Ebay store and you can email him for more info on your particular monitor. In my experience, the most difficult aspect of repair is locating the Parts, and this fellow seems to have a good stock .
My situation was a bad inverter module in a Viewsonic VX910( which I grew very fond of over the years). Call me old fashioned, but I prefer 800X600 resolution and the ability to run my old DOS games in FullScreen mode. It's becoming harder to find a monitor that's not wide screen and will run in the lower native resolutions .
FWIW : The inverter repair was a total of $40 with PriorityMail shipping. He replaced about 8 electrolytic capacitors for an additional $4
Good Luck,
