Hi, I recently Bought an View Sonic VA1916w LCD and it has this wierd problem. Scan Lines similar to those you have when your phone is near the computer's monitor and you're just about to receive a text message.

Or Like in the Movies When There is a Video Transmission and Its Jammed and or Breaking Up its Horizontal Lines like its shaking side to side

The Resolution is 1440 x 990 70hertz refresh rate.

It Does Go Away from time to time but when it does happen the whole screen is like blurred horizontally with fine lines.

So What Kind of Problem is this and What is it called?
Should i Get This Changed for a New One?

I can only think of 2 things.

Has your video card got the latest drivers ?

You could lower the refresh rate and see if the problem disappears.

Right click on Desktop > Properties > Settings > Advanced > Monitor > Screen refresh rate.

Perhaps a professional will give you a definitive answer.

It could be electrical interference.
Plug the monitor into a different outlet. make sure all the cables are tight. If the monitor cable is bundled with other cables, remove it from the bundle. Move speakers away from the monitor. Move any cordless phone and fluorescent light away from the monitor.

yeah, electrical interference was what crossed my mind.

--make sure there's nothing electrical near your monitor.
if that doesn't help...
-- look for clues....does it happen when other electrical equip is running in the house....vacuum cleaners, baby alarms,....(it doesn't have to be a hadron collider)

-- does your screen get it's power from your pc...or from a separate power source?

-- if you're trying attaching to a different power source/wall socket......also try a wall socket on a different circuit.
