Does any one know why the LAN connection switches from "Enabled" to "Disabled" when I close down the computer? When I switch on again the connection is not working. If I go into 'Internet Connections' and turn in on (Enable it) the computer shuts down. If I take the LAN connector out of the LAN socket at the back, then enable the connection and then put the LAN connector back there is no problem and the connection restores after a few seconds.

I can't keep disconnecting and connecting the LAN connector and re-enabling the LAN every time I use the computer. There must something I have missed somewhere.

Windows XP , SP3. Bt Home Hub 2

Hello,

Perhaps a problem with the motherboard's BIOS or the system's driver software?

You might want to make sure you have the latest BIOS version installed in your motherboard, as well as the latest device drivers for your chipset, power management (if separate from the chipset), CPU (if separate from the chipset) and network interface card.

Regards,

Thanks for the thoughts on this. We've managed to solve it by replacing the on-board LAN card with a new one. All working fine now.
