Tax cuts for... the poor? That would be... below middle class, correct? In 2006, (which is AFTER the Bush tax cuts) the bottom 50% of people paid 2.99%. This 50% is people who make less than $31,000 a year. While... the top 25% of people paid 86.27% of the taxes. Now, do you remember that stimulus check you got a while back for filing taxes this year? What did you do with it? Probably, like most people, you spent it. You stimulated the economy by spending. Now... if the government TAKES more money from you are you more likely to spend more or spend less to help cover your loss? I'm not rich. I'm a college teenager. I don't have enough knowledge about the state-trooper thing to debate you on that topic. However, Obama plans to add $3 trillion in more spending... WHERE is that money coming from? Oh I don't know, where does government get most of its money, oh right. US. There was a reason the economy BOOMED after Reagan made the (then) biggest tax-cut in U.S. history.
