Organisations like Free Geeks really are invaluable. Being on a low income myself, I know how prohibitive the cost of even the most basic PC can be for many people with extremely finances. I got my first Pentium PC from a charity several years ago - it wasn't free, but it was less than $200 (including the monitor and Windows '98). That got me through the hard times and allowed me to keep up my skills until I could return to part-time work.

Great! but what about ERA?

ERA donates to charities, senior's homes, etc..for free. I think they're the only organization that doesn't charge it's donee. plus, ERA is located everywhere in Canada. They also have a computer recycling in Vancouver like freegeek.
