OK, I'll try to be as kind as I can......OK?
I tried the "Defraggler" and it totally wrecked my HD.
The file allocations tables and boot sector were trashed!
Even a Ghost restore to the drive would not fix it. 
I wound up making that drive a slave to a new drive, on which I did a Ghost restore of a month old Image.
I'm now trying to copy files and shortcuts off of the old drive to the new one, bringing it up to date.
I finally got it repaired to the point where I can copy files off of it.....but it still won't boot.
Eventually, I'll have to wipe the old drive, re- FDISK it and format it to be able to use it again. I just hope that FDISK can fix it.
So my warning goes out to anyone wanting to try "Defraggler".....
Back up your system before you use it and then use it at your own peril.

Any program that makes changes to your hard drive should be trated with caution.
I've used this program without any problems but I'm sure you and I don't have the same system not do we run the same programs.
Hope you get your system back to normal.
Remember, even the built in defrag program can cause problems. |
