Hope this is the right forum to pose this question to...Wondering if it is possible to display AdSense ads in the outer shell of a page, but based on content displayed within an iframe? (no I can't be talked out of using iframes so don't try...lol)
Explanation: I have a site that uses an 'outer shell' with a center block of content that changes on each pageload. The layout of the site does not afford placing the AdSense script inside the iframe, but that is the content I would like the AdSense script to reference when determining which ads to show on the site. The AdSense script resides in the 'outer shell'.
I do have the frames option included in the AdSense script, but it doesn't seem to display ads relevant to the content in the center block. Is there a way to tell the AdSense script to look in that center block (id tag?), so that the ads shown are relevant to the actual content of the page which appears in the center block iframe? Currently the script includes a line of 'google_page_url=document.location' which I assume is to tell it the site is a frames site, but it doesn't appear to tell it to look at all the content of the page when determining ads to show.
All center block content are local pages so it isn't like I'm trying to insert some other site into mine. I've seen this asked over and over on several other sites, but with no answer? Any help here?
My personal opinon is that I should be able to have the ads drawn from whatever content on my site that I choose, but understand there may be limits to what Google will allow. Thanks in advance.
