AH.HEM...........

THIS is WHY.... I GET PISSED when Computer Repair People
FORCE clients to have "Auto Updates" turned on.

I WILL not do that to myself ....... or Clients.

I would rather get the Updates.... and Personally Put them on the PCs.

I know it is MORE time consuming and Sometimes difficult to
schedule..........BUT I hate .... not having control.

This is JUST another Confirmation on WHY I don't do the AUTO UPDATE.

BITS, the Background Intelligent Transfer Service, was never meant by Microsoft to be a technology used for downloading operating system updates. They even provide detailed instructions here on their developer's web site explaining how to write BITS-capable software. Like FTP or SMB, it is just another way to distribute software, and can be used for both beneficial and malevolent purposes.
