i am a newbie to PDAs. Everytime the battery dies I have to rerun the setup. Meaning the align the stylus and the brief tutorial.

Why does it do this?

Also i dont understand how to install programs on this thing. How does activesync work?

im looking for a program to some software to browse the internet but view the screen sideways rather than vertical.

thank you.

Also is it possible to run a divx codec on a PDA?

Hello,

As a guess, the Hewlett-Packard iPAQ rx3715 Mobile Media Companion may use memory which is powered by a battery to store its configuration settings. When the power is fully discharged, the settings stored in memory are lost and have to be re-entered.

As a work-around, try charging the unit before it fully runs out of power.

Microsoft ActiveSync is the software which allows you to synchronize data between your computer and your PDA. It can also be used to install software on your PDA. Usually, software for a PDA comes with specific instructions on how to install it, so you may wish to refer to those first.

Nyditot Software makes a program called Virtual Display which allows you to change the orientation and resolution of a PDA's display. I've used it in the past and it worked quite well.

Hello,

I have not used a Compaq (now Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ PDA since the original iPAQ came out, so I really could not say what their current capabilities are. You should be able to contact Hewlett-Packard's technical support department and find out the answer from them, though.
