Hi,
When I try to map to a network drive, I usually get prompted for username and password. My problem is with this one XP machine I have...I get prompted for username and password but the username field is set to "MachineName\Guest" and it's disabled (can't edit the box). I want to use the Administrator credentials.

Entering the correct guest password doesn't even work!

Thanks

I had this same problem. I went into group policy editor from the mmc and changed a policy on the offending computer.

Computer configuration
Windows Settings
Security Settings
Local Policies
Security Options
Network access: Sharing and security model for local accounts

Set to:
Classic - local users authenticate as themselves

Easy method:

First - make sure your account has a password.

Second - double click My Computer (or just open a folder) - Tools - Folder Options - View - Uncheck the last option of "Use Simple File Sharing"

If you have not created a share, the format would be \\ip address or computer name\c$

Done
