Hello,
My business partner and I have been doing small websites for individuals and small business persons. With just the two of us working on a site, things get done. But when (awhile ago) we took on a larger project that necessitated hiring independent contractors, we got in serious trouble. We'd like to tackle larger projects because there's the potential for better money; but we'd like to (!need to!!) apply some better project management practices and tools.
How do you manage larger projects where you hire subcontractors?
Are there any tools you can recommend to make sure your project tasks are on track and nothing drops through the cracks or gets done out of sesquence so it has to be done twice or........?????? We could really use your help in this -- thanks!

By far the best tool available is found at http://basecamphq.com (with whom I have no connection other than as a happy user).
This is an on-line service (ie web application) with all the reatures needed by a small consultance. The best part is that you can let your clients have access to their project area to upload files, comment on design docs and more.
I recommend that you take a look.

I can recommend you the VIP To Do List software from the VIP Quality Software, Ltd.

I would suggest Veedid Desktop To-Do List, it is a handy todo lists management tool, a novice can master it immediately. With it, you can organize your personal to-do list easily, share business to-do list in workgroup.

Organizations often identify numerous project ideas, but fail to capture project information in a central location and complete the necessary business cases for each project. In some organizations, projects are selected without a clearly defined analysis process or selection criteria.
I would say ]Microsoft Project planner or MS project Software would be of great help

I tried some of the others and they were much more complicated than I expected.
I have 15 employees with multiple office locations. Our projects are not super complex but they do require coordination between the users and the different offices.
I use this Team Task Management software -
h*ttp://www.deskshare.com/team-task-management.aspx
It works very well for my company needs. It was extremely intuitive and we were installed and functioning quickly. |
