I'm planning on getting a KVM switch to control my windows pc and my mac pro. I eventually want to get a second monitor also. So, I'm looking for a KVM switch that will support two DVI connections from my cpus and two DVI connections from my two monitors. I'll connect my keyboard and mouse, and possibly my speakers.

Does anyone have an opinion on which brands are superior or more versatile or worth the price?

Hello,

Avocent, Belkin, Black Box, Gefen, IOGear (Aten), Raritan and Rose Electronics all make KVM switches which should meet your needs. I have used Belkin and IOGear models most recently and they worked fine.

thanks for the response, goretsky. i'm having a really hard time finding what i want though. no switch seems to have all the features i want. i can find a switch that allows two cpus, but no switches that allow 2 cpus AND 2 monitors. Any ideas where I should look?

Hello,

Gefen has two models which I think will meet your needs: The 2x2 DVI Switcher or the 2x2 DVI DL Switcher KVMs.

I think those will meet your needs, although it would be a good idea to verify that with their customer service department.
