If anyone is looking for hotels with high-speed Internet access, I've listed what I could find at my website PluggedInns.com. Check Des Moines, West Des Moines and Johnston, IA. If anyone knows of other hotels in the area that I don't have listed, please drop me a line.

This site has been useful to me in the past for hotels with high-speed access, just another resource to try....

Wish I could be at Gnomedex, but I appreciate any links for hotels with high-speed access. Thanks!

Just got off the phone with the customer counter at Starlight Village. Had to make some changes to my booking info and asked about internet availability which I found out is provided in the rooms via data port at no extra cost. Hope this comes in handy. Cheers!
Very Happy

If you were wondering about internet access at the Renaissance Savery, there are two telephones in each room with two phone lines and you can access via the dataport on the phone or the Smartlamp on the desk.

Here is a reminder and suggestion to all:

Remember, we will have FREE wireless internet access provided to us @ the convention center. You will be required to "check out" one of Crosspath's PCMCIA cards and leave your credit card information with them (you will not be charged unless you do not turn in your card at the end of the convention).

And here is the suggestion: If you MUST have some sort of internet access in your hotel room and high speed is not an option, sign up for a Crosspath's "@Gnomies" account.

"The Pay-As-You-Go plan has all the features of our dial-up Internet access plans with a few notable exceptions:

1. It's Not Unlimited
$1.00 per month keeps your account active and gives you up to 1 hour of access per month included. You'll then pay only $1.00 for each additional hour used in a given month.

2. Only 1 E-mail Address is Included
It's the same enhanced e-mail account included with our other access, including POP3 and web mail access, virus protection, and spam filtering. You just get only one of them."

Now that is NOT a bad deal at all! Read more here.
