| I have an ECS board which claims it will accept 8 gig! After much experimenting (thank goodness for a good return policy), I finally got it to work with 3 gig. Windows XP will only recognize 2 gig! It seems that my whole operating efforts run in the first gig - leaving 2 gig free (recognized by Windows!). I have had one instance (multitasking and viewing Google Earth) that actually used some of the recognized 2 remaining gigs! The computer runs nice on two gigs, but wouldn't boot at all on 4 gigs! On another computer (Windows 7 beta 64 bit), I have a full 4 gig running fine.
