Hey, I'm new here, but I'm having some trouble that maybe some of you can help me with!
I have been using Symantec Ghost 7.5 for a while now on some older dell and newer dell pc's. The problem concerns itself with the new dells which are currently running on Windows 2000. I had no trouble ghosting (cloning from an image) these computers. I recently put together a prototype computer from one of the new dells and installed Windows XP SP2 on it.
Now here's the problem: When I try to sysprep the machine, it goes through it's routine but automatically shuts down my NIC. I Ghost computers from one of the servers that I am running, so I'll need the NIC to be operative!
I have no idea why this is happening. To be specific, I am running the latest deployment tools for SP2 that I downloaded from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en.
My 'sysprep.inf' looks like this:
;SetupMgrTag
[Unattended]
OemSkipEula=Yes
;InstallFilesPath=C:\sysprep\i386
[GuiUnattended]
AdminPassword=*
EncryptedAdminPassword=NO
OEMSkipRegional=1
TimeZone="004"
OemSkipWelcome=1
[UserData]
ProductKey=*
FullName=*
OrgName=*
ComputerName=*
[SetupMgr]
;DistFolder=C:\sysprep\i386
DistShare=windist
[Identification]
;JoinWorkgroup=*
JoinDomain=*
CreateComputerAccountInDomain=*
DomainAdmin=*
DomainAdminPassword=*
[Networking]
InstallDefaultComponents=Yes
I have tried 5 or 6 of the different possible options configurations you can choose when you run sysprep.bat (factory, reseal, don't regen. SIDs, etc) but every time, the NIC is disabled. Any ideas? If you guys have questions, don't hesitate to ask!!
