Title pretty much says it all. I haven't been able to find one anywhere. Something that downloads not just the little summary, but also the linked web page, so that I can read the article without needing to be connected to the internet.

I'm sure there are several that fit that bill, but Thunerbird is one.

I can't see any way to make Thunderbird download the linked article along with the feed though. So, even if I update the feed and then go offline I can't read the article - only the summary.

I think that depends upon how the feed is setup though. Not every feed that I read gives me the entire article, but I have it set to do so if it is available.

A combination of Google Reader + Google Gears offers basically the same thing too. It will download the articles for you and you can read them whether online or off. If the feed only offers a link back to the site or a description though then it is obeyed by Google Reader.

I guess they won't quite do what I need then. For example in this feed, the first couple sentences of the article are included in the summary. When using Thunderbird or Google Reader/Gears, I can update the feed, go offline and read the summary. But if I want anything more than the first few sentences, I have to go back online again. Aren't there any readers that will cache the linked article when the feed is updated?
