Thanks to the guys working on our new forums.....

Please post any glitches you run into here. Please don't turn this thread into a negative forum..... It's only intent is to report bugs that you find. It's in a beta state and reports will be seen by the programmer.

Thanks for your patience and support!!!

Steve (developer): Please report any bugs here

I'm finding that the page size does not alter based on your browser window. In otherwords, I have scroll bars both up and down and side to side, and it does not shrink to the size of my browser window.

Another thing that I'd like to see is the name of the poster listed and their entire post in rss not just a summary without a member name attached.

The user search when composing a message, finds the correct user but when I attempted to send a pm, got an error that user does not exist.

I guess I don't understand this board setup. I logged in on what appeared to be a main page for the forums. I picked a category (I'm shown in the active users at the bottom on this page http://forums.lockergnome.com/general/) and yet when I tried to post in the board announcement thread, I was asked to login.
Must be me because I appeared not logged in on another tab, technobabble, but when I clicked the thread, I was logged in.

It doesn't seem to be adjusting for time zones properly. I'm GMT+10 hours (it's 2:52 am 13th May), yet it's showing some posts as being GMT+14 hours).

Also, using the little indicator next to forum names which allows sub-forums also to be displayed (such as http://forums.lockergnome.com/general/modules.php?name=Forums&file...ewforum) causes the name of one of the sub-forums to be displayed instead of the parent forum's name (although all of the posts do show).

Plus, there's no RSS feed for Linux Fanatics (forum 60)

I have to scroll back and forth also to read a posting.

We changed the url's from forums.lockergnoem.com to help.lockergnome.com. You may have experienced the problem in this transition.

I see RSS feed for Linux Fanatics.

When you use the little button to see all subforums as well, then there is a column added which shows blank for current forum, and name of subforum when the post is from that subforum.

Steve,
feel free to merge this thread with your sticky. It's fine with me and will probably be easier to follow for us all.

When you click "new post" to compose an im, there is a button next to the "to" box that says find username. Click that then when you get the right click choose that name and close window.

So far I've only been able to send one at a time.

Or you can just reply to them. When their letter is open, top right of that box it says post a reply. Click that.

I obviously missed something. One evening I look at the LG site, and there it is....... gone!
And a few days later it's back, looking slick and sharp. But that doesn't make feel any better about the way that it vanished and reappeared, without any explanation or (very much if any) warning.
Loyal and supportive Gnomie that I've been for a long time, I expected better.
Sad

This might be a bit off topic, I know. But it's the only thread that actually refers to the change.

Sorry about that, but old server dies without warning and those that worked on it, worked their butts off to get us live by today....... if we could have notified all our members we would have, but the forums died and Chris and Steve worked with what they had to get things up and running again as quickly as possible.

I had one glitch. I clicked "Reply" on a post, which used to quote that post in the reply. When that didn't happen, I realized that the format changed, so I went back and clicked "Quote". After that, I couldn't get anything but "There seems to be a database error" or something like that. I had to close Firefox and reopen to reply.

All in all, though, this is very nice. One question, though - what is the "Good ... Best" Vote thing under each post?

It looks really good too, but the explanation bit could maybe have come at the top of the page and not down here......

I too have the same problem. I am GMT+5.5 hours but it shows GMT+5 and is not being updated to the correct value inspite of the change made in my profile.

I like it other than I'm having an identity crisis due to the fact that I don't have a copy of my avatar on my machine, don't know why not, and can't find it so I've had to find another and I'm just not sure it's me! Confused

Yes, times are weird here too. It correctly shows at bottom that all times are London etc. (as per my profile) but some posts are showing as several hours ahead. I notice there is also only a reply button on each post but not one at the bottom of the forum.

Edit: and the time of this post shows as 1.37pm but I went out at 1.20 so it was way before that.
