For those of you using Mandriva Linux, an rpm is now available which will install the FlashPlayer 9 beta. Although the tar file can be downloaded from Adobe's site, I had problems with sound when I installed it, so I went back to FlashPlayer 7. However, the new rpm seems to work perfectly. I tested it by viewing a Photobucket video (which can't be viewed with Flash 7), and I got picture & sound, which is good enough for me.
You can download the rpm from:
FlashPlayer rpm build for : Mandriva 2007.
At the moment it looks like Mandriva is the only distro which has an rpm for the newest version of FlashPlayer, but users of other distros might want to keep an eye out
here to see if any rpm's are added for their OS.
