Coming soon to a newsletter near you, like next week

I would like to publicly thank my cousin Bill again in my newsletter. This week he sent me some more of his "obsolete" computer equipment specifically A Palm M130 and a Dell Axim X5 Pocket PC. Bill has sent me a laptop, a scanner, and a Zip drive, in the past, and now a PDA and Pocket PC. The Axim came with Outlook 2000 so the newsletter will be sent from Outlook, from now on, using it's ability to access my Google Gmail account directly. Next week will be my 100th newsletter and I hope to do something fancy but not gaudy with it. Mark.

Morning excitement

I mentioned before ( http://luem42.com/Documents/aug0406.html ) that the city has built their new police headquarters 500 feet from my house. There is a building next to it that they are planning to tear down and turn into a visitors parking lot. Before it gets torn down they were using it for police swat team training. Last night, around 7pm, they ran an urban training exercise and we heard a couple of big booms from flash-bang grenades. Around 1am, 4hours after they were done, the building caught on fire. Coincidence? I don't think so. At least the firefighters got some training to. That's 2 fires on my street in a month. BTW this is why the newsletter is 2 hours late this morning because I just had to go look when I got up at 5am. Mark.

Thanks Mark. Lots of great stuff (as usual). It is also interesting to see at the bottom of your home page that the President has awarded posthumous Congressional Gold Medals to the crew & passengers of United Airlines Flight 93. I wasn't aware of that.
