Normally I don't endorse anything with AOL in the title, but every once in a while even they get something right....
http://www.xdrive.com/
A new service offered by AOL gives 5GB of online storage space for free.
You must have an AOL Instant Messenger account, or you can sign up for one. |

| Nice offer. Wrong company. I'd feel the urge to bathe repeatedly after signing up.

I must not be as sensitive as momabear. The signup didn't bother me. I used Xdrive years ago but when they went from free to fee I droped it.
I have an AOL screen name to use with AIM because so many of my non technical friends use AOL and it's nice to easily stay in touch.
Thanks Debora. I'll give it a try and report back on my experience. I often need a way to share large files beyond the limits of most email and this might just be the answer. |

| Mozy (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1951151,00.asp) is offering 2GB of free online backup space with encryption. Read both the pros and cons. Not storage space per se, but useful if needed. |

Ok,
So it's been almost 4 months now, any problems?
Anyone else using this service?
I have a need for a reliable online storage solution, and I don't want to set up a server just to get it.
Thanks in advance for the replies!
Cheers! |

| Haven't used xdrive, but I do use Mozy. It's an excellent service and I'm leaning towards signing up for the Pro license and start using it as an additional backup at our offices. |

| I've been using xdrive for years now, always the free version (was 50mb before AOL bought them out) and had no problems - just DON'T use the xdrive destop. |
