Will the event be recorded in any form? Paper transcripts, tape/cd/mp3 audio, video?

It would be nice to have the presetations to reference after the conference is over.

From the info I've received from Lori, I think the answer is no, there will not be recordings of the events (due to cost considerations).

The individual speakers may have handouts, but judging from the speakers' style over the last few years, I think that handouts/transcripts are probably unlikely.

Speaking of recording; what are the regulations for personal recordings of presentations?

I may use my minidisc recorder, and I don't want to dig myself a hole for recording anyone's presentation.

If everything goes the way it did last year: you are allowed to record the event for YOURSELF and your family. But of course, you may not sell your recordings for profit.

The more that I think about it....you may NOT record the actual speakers' presentations during the convention, but you may record the nightly entertainment. (i.e. game show, karaoke).

Don't quote me on the speakers part...once Gretchen gets a look at this thread she'll have a more definite answer for ya Luke Wink

HEh... I'm not really involved in any Gnomedex planning, Sam, so I can't give an answer.

I have a feeling it may depend on the speakers' personal rules/preferences. They may mention it at the start of their presentation, but I'd suggest asking the question when you show up for registration... I can't give you an answer now, but hopefully I will know by Thursday.
