| Howdy Folks,
I've asked Bill to see what's going on - if anything - with the forum software. Perhaps it's time to upgrade to the new version, after all?

| Now even deleting duplicate posts has become difficult. I keep getting the "This menu has been disabled" page, even though the topic was deleted successfully. We are definitely having some page loading problems. |

Hello,
Perhaps a backup of the database could be applied to a test server running the new version of Invision Power Board software to help verify it solves the problem and does not cause any additional ones?
Regards,

Note to all;
Three suggestions that may help, based on my experience with the IPB software. If your session is sluggish, try logging out and back in again (sometimes this seems to kick start something and pages are more responsive). Second, archive your stored PMs, have them emailed to yourself, then delete them from forum storage (the PM section is the 2nd largest part of the forum database. Freeing some space there might help). Lastly, limit the quoting previous posts in your replies (for some reason this has caused errors in formatting in other IPB boards, and may be causing problems here, too. Instead of fully quoting a post, copy/paste the part you want to respond to and use the "quote" button above the reply box.)
I'm not saying these will help, but they may, and they sure won't make the situation any worse. |
