Hey Guys,

I have two monitors. One is the 19" that I primarily use, and then the 17" I want to dual display with. I have received this morning a VGA Y Splitter Cable Lead. I have plugged them in, and both screens show the same thing.

When I go into Display on Windows XP and Settings like I have been told how to use dual display, it thinks I have only one monitor and I do not have the option to spread the display over both monitors.

Can anybody help me? How would I spread the display across both screens.

Thanks Very Happy

Hello,

I believe a simple analog VGA splitter cable does not allow a video card to detect that two separate monitors are connected to a computer. Either the second monitor has to be hooked up directly to another video source or you have to use a device like Matrox' DualHead2Go which allows the sole video card to address the two physical monitors as one logical monitor.
