I have a pdf file that has several download links. When I try to download the files I get an error message about the plugin isn't available and I might find the info on the Adobe page. I had a similar problem with external links in pdf files and the Adobe page had no answer but I found the problem was in the WE Internet Security Settings.

I've tinkered with this and I've got everything there set to either enable or prompt, yet I still get this error message. Any ideas? Thanks.

Did you check to see if anything else is blocking that site (cookies, security zones, hosts file, etc, etc, etc)?

No I didn't. I'm not sure of exactly what things I should check. Also, this is the first time I've had a problem downloading anything. The only other problem I've had was the previously mentioned one with not being able to activate external links in a pdf. Atter modifying the Internet Security in IE that problem was fixed.

I asked because, at one point, I couldn't get my Hotmail to open. It turns out that I'd blocked an MSN cookie and Hotmail refused to load without the cookie.

The easiest way to check is to go through each tab in IE Options and reset them all to default and empty out any entries that have been added (such as cookie blocking, security zone customizations, etc) I'd then remove and reinstall the Adobe program that you want to use. Hopefully that'll clear out the "glitch" that's happening. Other than that, I'd suggest a repair install of IE - but I haven't done that in years, but you can probably find it with Google.

Good luck!
