|

| I recently got a new motherboard and case due to some previous motherboard problems. I created a new partition and formatted the hard drive, I just got done installing Windows XP, then it went to restart and run, then it came up with the Error 22 Grub thing.
Which...has to do with Linux... which I had debian on before as dual boot...how do I get rid of the Grub??
Which...formatting doesn't work...obviously... or something, or it didn't really format? which seems odd to me... HELP???

This really has me disgruntled (since I don't use linux very much).
I'm trying to get windows back on because, I'm tired of using my mom's computer...which sucks, and because it has all the programs that I love to use so very much.
There's nothing wrong with linux, it's really cool, just not something I wanna use 100% of the time at the moment.
So if anyone knows how to get rid of this Grub Loader...preferably with a CD *my floppy drive is gone, cuz it doesn't work, and I can't afford a new one, even though they're like...$10 now.* LOL |

| To delete grub, boot up a windows recovery or installation disk, choose the recovery console, and run 'FIXBOOT' and 'FIXMBR'. |

| If that doesn't work, look around for a 98 boot disk, burn it to a cd (since your floppy drive is gone) and at the a: prompt type in fdisk /mbr (there's a space before the /. |

Yeah, I tried that... It currently only has Win98 on it, cuz I read that with WinXP it's more complicated the FDISK /MBR
But it doesn't work. I type it in and here's what I see...
--------------------------
E:\FDISK /MBR
E:\
--------------------------
Doesn't say that "Boot rewrite succesfull" or anything, then I restart and still has the Grub Error. |

| Computers use C:\ as the root so I suspect the MBR you are trying to fix is on C:\ and not E:\ |

| I know that, but E: is the CD Drive that the CD with FDisk is in...anyway, it's all good now, I just use my Win98 startup to tell it to start from the hard drive with winXP... |
