[B]Had some strange problems with NAV. Looked like virus problem but verified with latest Norton database first and Trend Micro on line later and showed no virus. Decided uninstall Norton SystemWorks 2003. And then my Win XT-Pro comp 2600 just collapsed. After I reinstalled my system, found Nprotect with about 42 Mb of garbage and I can't erase it. I reinstalled Protected Bin or whatever you call it. It works fine with anything new I erase. But still no way to delete those 42 Mb. When I try to erase them, says no such files. I can open Nprotect in pseudo-DOS mode. Attrib says they are just A (archive) not hidden, not read only and not system files. And even so, no way to erase them. No way to undelete, no way to change attrib. I've used som undelete programs and one didn't even reconized the problem and the other jost copied some files but the original stayed there.
With Win 98 or ME, one can start in DOS and erase anything. But, what can I do to erase those 42 MB with WIN XP?

Have you tried Symantec's Tech support website? They may be able to shed some light on your 42 mb of garbage. You can hack all of it out of your registry if you are carefull and back it up beforehand. You should have formated your HD and performed a clean install, then you would not have had to worry about 42 mb's of stuff.
