Helloooooo,

Anyone familiar with this item?
I am trying to connect my Powerbook G4 to my older TV.
I have the wires running correctly..

I get either a plain black screen or a black one with a jumpy black and white screen.

I set my resolution to the lowest setting possible..

Thank You!!
Angel

you may find something that will work like

Had a cable issue that may help others. I tried to use the rca type cable that was from my DVD player to the TV to hook the mac to the tv. That cable would not work. A standard audio type rca cable worked fine.
If you have trouble, try a regular audio type cable (like home stereos use).

This adapter works with the following

Important:
Requires Mac Pro (with ATI X1900 XT), MacBook Pro, Mac mini or Power Mac G5 with DVI port.
It isn't supported on a G4.

Thanks Zlim. I saw both of those items.

I was told by two mac geniuses that this item would work with my powerbook even though it says it is not for it. ODD, I know..

Also are they just talking about the red (out of the red yellow white) cables
when they say "regular audio type cables" ?

Thanks so much!

red and white are the right and left side for audio and yellow is video - that's the little I know about cables from hooking up my DVD burner to a tv without the right connectors.
